Amaro Classico

Amaro, one of Italy’s most iconic aperitif's and famous for its deliciously bitter-sweet flavour that is key to cocktails like the negroni. Our Amaro Classico is at the heart of The Woods award wining product range and is our Pacific Northwest twist on this famous spirit. While most amaro of this style is overwhelmingly orange focussed, our house style holds more delicate notes of citrus and evergreen that are complement by the perfect balance of bitter and sweet.

Our one-of-a-kind vacuum still allows us to cold-distill the 9 botanicals that make up our Amaro Classico. The iconic bitterness comes from wormwood while botanicals like grapefruit zest, rhubarb root, bitter orange and grand fir (pine tree) make up the beautiful bouquet of aromas and depth of flavour. While most amaro of this style is overwhelmingly orange focussed, our style holds delicate notes of citrus and evergreen that complement with the perfect balance of bitter and sweet.
